At 6.45 this morning (Tuesday 23rd July), workers accompanied by the McDonalds site manager arrived on site. One worker, an electrician left the site shortly afterwards without completing any work. However a team of three contractors, most likely working for the Lanksi construction company worked from around 9AM to 1PM to finish the hoardings (fencing) around the construction site.

A call out went out via SMS, email and Facebook for people to come down to the site and people did come down in numbers to make their displeasure to the workers who crossed our blockade known.

Also today the site saw a visit from a Worksafe Representative who was checking out the site in preperaton for the absetos to be removed.

Clearly McDonalds is continuing its preperations to demolish the Old Hazelvale Dairy. Clearly our ongoing presence at the site is needed now more than ever. Please get down to the gates between 5AM and 5PM tommorow if you can. Please watch out for updates in the coming day on Facebook, email and SMS.
