Congratulations to the Tecoma 8 who have won the title of ‘Issue of the Year’ by the Mail Newspaper Group! It is so heartening to see that these community members are being recognised by the media in this way, especially considering their statement “While the Mail remains unbiased towards controversial issues such as the Tecoma McDonald’s, the Tecoma 8’s sheer passion and love for the area won them their title.” We couldn’t agree more. And it is this same passion and love for the community that is driving us ALL to maintain the protest against James Currie and McDonald’s! To maintain our commitment a McDonald’s free Dandenongs and to continue to FIGHT FOR DEMOCRACY!

But today it’s all about celebrating YOU – Shane, Marcia, Karl, Ava, Janine, Mark, Martha and Jude! You have made news globally and inspired millions. We as a community are deeply proud of you and indebted to your acts of defiance and courage!
