Police commenced an operation at the site of the contentious Tecoma McDonald’s this morning at 4:00am.
Approximately 80 police have ringed the site, whilst a search and rescue team have deployed a “cherry picker” to access the roof.
The lone female protester known as “roof girl” has been on the roof for over a week.
I think that the police resources currently deployed in Tecoma is deplorable. McDonalds is not wanted by 9 out of 10 people (I protested for the first time this morning before coming to work) so this multi national is using resources paid for by the community to put the community down. Democracy in this country is now an absolute joke. It shows that money and power buy anything, whether it is for the good of the country or the community.
